Set within the established heritage area of Sydney’s Hunters Hill, CA House carefully balances historical preservation with a contemporary liveability. The restoration of this single-story Federation semi-style home embraces the original architectural artisanal and handmade elements, reinstating period details in retaining a connection to the past. To meet the needs of a young family of three, the design navigates a two-meter site gradient, with an elevated master suite and a lower level that fluidly integrates family living, dining, and entertainment spaces, extending naturally into the garden. The aim was to create a home that felt relevant and comfortable for the dynamics of family life, utilising and activating as much of the site as possible while retaining key character details.
